Moldings at Manchester Art Gallery

Right next to the Portico Library as I mentioned in the last post is the other Charles Barry building, which is the art gallery.

I am sure I have taken a picture of these moldings before, but there is something impressive about these all around the ceiling. If you’re in Manchester and visit the gallery then they are in the gallery at the top and on the right. It used to be a fashion gallery I think, but not sure what it is now. There are exhibits on traditional drinks, and I think you can book a Japanese tea ceremony there, but that was next week, so we were too early.

I would argue it’s well worth a visit for the ceiling alone, but the gallery opposite often is usually a constantly changing exhibit, but this time it was close, so I am assuming they were changing the exhibit.
