Fore Abbey

Fore Abbey is actually an abbey and not a Castle which for me it looks to me. This was a short trip out ro see Fore Distillery and we headed down to see what this was also about. It was all very nice, until it started raining and we headed back to the car from the abbey. And the distillery was more about the cafe than it was about the distillery.

To be honest I was knackered most of the weekend. The first night we flew in to Dublin and headed to the pub at 10pm and left at 4am. Not so bad for me because I was driving, but at 9am the hire car company rang up to ask if we knew where were were dropping the car off, which was daft (and a bit of foreshadowing if this were a film) because we had been to the same care hire drop off multiple times, so why wouldn’t I know. Anyway I was up then so no sleep for me, so 5 hours would have to do me.

Anyway there are the seven wonders of Fore to see if you’re in town, and they are… OK, so perhaps the seven OK wonders of Fore as far as I am concerned, but interesting nonetheless.

As for the car hire, I just taped “Alamo Car Hire Return” into Google Maps and headed there. Well that was a mistake. It directs you to a back alley, which is about 20 minutes from where you want to be. Annoyingly, I am unsure where I am going back to, I’ll drop a pin on the map and get back there, but don’t worry I know where I’m going, I’ve been there a million times. Oh well.
