Gladstone Pottery Museum

Finally I can actually do something other than work, obligations and then lazing about that I then feel like I have wasted a day, which I probably haven’t done as having a day off is sort of important. Anyway this weekend we went to Gladstone Pottery Museum which seems to be a place with the largest number of kilns in Staffordshire, I think they have about 5 or 6 and you can walk around about 4 of them. Mind you they all really look the same, but still it’s quite impressive.

It’s also the second time I have had Staffordshire oatcakes, the last time being at Middleport Pottery Museum which also had a cafe that sold oatcakes. I must admit the experience was a lot better, mainly because I didn’t go for bacon and cheese because there was no bacon, so I had ham and cheese instead.

It’s well worth a visit, there’s lots to learn about the potteries and how it all worked as well as the people who worked there. It seems t be a larger museum than the one at Middleport, but both are worthwhile.

Needless to say like last time, we had to pass by to buy some mugs or plates etc. I mean how many do you need, and the answer is always, more, or n+1 I think it the phrase.
