Pagoda at Kew Gardens

It was a busy old weekend and a long one what with the bank holiday and we took Tuesday off as well.

Part of it was to move boxes from one flat to another, or more specifically move boxes from a storage unit to a flat, not that this is interesting in itself, just factually correct.

We did have some time off and ended up in Kew Gardens which I’ve never been to before despite the number of times I’ve been in London.

Apart from the Japanese section which is really interesting and pretty, I wasn’t that greatly impressed, I think the fact that I didn’t get any sleep the night before didn’t help what with the Notting Hill Carnival meaning our hotel floor was full of people who didn’t want to hit the hay, and quite liked the idea of running from room to room and slamming doors every 5 minutes. Even so I was less impressed by the constant sound of aircraft, since Heathrow is under 8 miles away, the aircraft ar on final approach and one by one storm overhead without much of a break if any at all depending on the sizes of them.

Anyway, this is the Pagoda in the Japanese part, and like I said, the Japanese section is well worth a visit and seemed a little quieter as it’s just off the direct flight path as the flight path seems to go directly over the main entrance and the Japanese section is a bit off that towards the Lion Gate.
